In contrast, The Shard is a 72-story modern skyscraper designed by Italian architect, Renzo Piano in the Southwark borough of London and completed in 2012. It is the tallest building in the United Kingdom at 1016 feet and has an observation deck on the 72nd floor at 801 feet giving the most spectacular view of London.
